Saturday mani: my 1 August nails featuring Femme Fatale Scorchling

Normally this space would be dedicated to a Skittelette and I also have one in my mind - I just could not bring myself to remove my current mani - but I reveal that piece only tomorrow in my NOTDs of the week ;-).

For 1 August I wanted to do something sparkly and ostentatious. Wanna see?

From left: Opi Glints of Gilda, Femme Fatale Scorchling, Jade Glitter Kaleidoscopio

First two pictures of the gradient indoors in daylight

I started out with one coat of Opi Glints of Gilda. I then simply dabbed on Scorchling on the first third of my nails and then placed individual glitters with my wooden stick cascading down to the base of my nails. Originally I planned to be done by now but somehow the base of my nails looked so nekkid compared to the sparklers at the top - I remembered the Jade Glitter Kaleidoscopio Topper I got from my wonderful sister in polish from Brazil and its delicate holo sprinkle added just the needed final touch of bling to a blingy mani ;-). I applied it from the base upward of about two third of the nail with the one or the other "excursion" to the top of the nail.

.... and here in artificial light...

Scorchling is a bottle full of glitter with "some" liquid in it. I am not sure if I own another polish with this consistency. With Scorchling you certainly cannot complain about sparse glitter pay-off or fishing for glitter. Rather you will be looking for some liquid to help spread it on the nail. Before ending with this gradient I did some test painting and layered Scorchling over a couple of creams - very nice too, but this will be for another time and post. For this gradient I had to dab it on and the bumpiness was SCARY!! I could not look from the side at my nails - I find bumpy nails so UGLY!! Two coats of Cult Nails Wicked Fast took the grittiness but the bumpiness of course remained. Oh well - I loved the end result none the less.

And some sunshine on my nails:

... and lastly in the shade

What do you think of my gradient?

I ordered Femme Fatale Scorchling with Harlow & Co.

I look forward to reading your comments - thanks for visiting!!!
Christine
