Nubbins week: The Nail Junkie Watermelon

Oh my, I finally collected more nubbins polishes to show you than I originally hoped. Of course neon shades belong in here as well. There intensity and forcefulness are not diminished in the least by shorter nails.

Those of you who read my Blog regularly might remember my post on The Nail Junkie Fish and the photo of my entire haul from Aleta's Etsy Shop. I of course also had to order a polish from the Neon Shimmer Jelly Line. Out of all of the polishes available there, Watermelon screamed "buy me" the loudest. I bet, when you look at the pictures you can just imagine the overwhelming squeal ;-)

The first pictures shows Watermelon indoors in daylight without Top Coat

The next two pictures are taken indoors in daylight with Essence Better Than Gel Nails Top Sealer

The last two photos are taken outdoors, the first in the sun, the second in the shade

I applied two coats of The Nail Junkie Watermelon over Zoya Anchor Base Coat and used Essence Better Than Gel Nails Top Sealer to add a dose of high shine. The formula is immaculate, and I have no further comments on it except FLAWLESS. Whenever I read the line "nearly opaque in one coat" I always wonder how it actually looks. To save you from this thought below a picture of one coat of Watermelon on my nails:

See? OPAQUE!!!! Still, the intensity is a bit less and depending on how I moved and twisted my hands, I could detect some thinner covered spots.

Final thoughts: I love that happy, bright orange. It has enough red in it that I can get away with it (normally my skin does not like oranges). Sadly, I could not capture the delicate shimmer in it but it is there and it is visible, not strongly so but enough to complement the brightness of the neon color.

I ordered The Nail Junkie Watermelon with Aleta's Etsy Shop here.

I look forward to reading your comments - thanks for visiting!!!
Christine

  1. Gorgeous! I think this shade is meant for short nails! I love, how the shade suit you, as you said, bright, and orange but totally wearable. I imagine the subtle shimmer makes the polish really unique.
another great mani for Summer, thanks for sharing Christine, bisous, xxx

    1. Salut Nati - merci mille fois :-)!!! I was frankly quite pleased myself - oranges usually don't really suit my skin tone ;-). Pointless Cafe has an awesome picture showing off the holo sparkle in it but honestly, it wasn't visible IRL. But then it maybe added dimension to the vibrancy??? I am happy that you liked my choice :-) - bisous xxx

  2. Oh, I've seen this polish before and it so bright and yet so "dark" if you know what I mean. You look amazing in it! :D

    1. Thank you :-)!!! You are right, the shimmer was not visible IRL - but then it maybe adds to the brightness of Watermelon?

    1. Hi Süsse - LOL, it is eye-seering, I admit!!! I think the brightness would cover any unevenness of a single coat. Thank you for your cheering comment love - have a wonderful start into the week - viele Küsschen xxx

  6. Wow! This is so bright and fun. You managed to capture the brightness...great job. I always have issues with neon type shades and trying to capture that in a photo.
