My NOTDs of the week

I used some of my new Bourjois polishes for my Saturday Skittelette yesterday. I really, really love Bourjois Prepp'hibiscus and wore it as full mani to start the week:

I applied three coats of Prepp'hibiscus over Essence XXL Nail Thickener and finished with Essence Better Than Gel Nails Top Sealer. It dries very quickly. Prepp'hibiscus is from Bourjois' line "So Laque Glossy". The stem of the brush is very long - which I like because it helps once the bottle is half empty. While the bottle is still full it is very loaded with polish and easily can flood your nail or table top if you don't keep an eye on it. The wear was excellent and it kept its high shine even on day two and three. Removal was easy and my nails were free of any orangey tint.

Colors by Llarowe quickly became a favorite brand of mine and during the last pre-order (which I by the way loved) I also snagged Purple Rain. It is a deep purple jelly filled with myriads of blue glitter/shimmer particles.

I applied three coats of Purple Rain over Essence XXL Nail Thickener. I used Essence Better Than Gel Nails Top Sealer. The first coat went on very sheer and I needed two medium thick coats to achieve an even finish and an opacity I liked. Dry time was decent. Removal was just a tad more time consuming than a regular cream due to all the glitter particles. The result was knocking me out of my socks - Purple Rain twinkles and glitters with every move of your hand no matter if you are in the full sun or in the shade. A totally unique gem!!!

I hope you are not yet tired of seeing Bourjois polishes because I have another one for you. This is Bourjois Vert Chlorophylle - a green leaning dark turquoise.

I applied three coats of Bourjois Vert Chlorophylle over Essence XXL Nail Thickener. The application was as easy as with any other Bourjois I tried so far. Once more I kept an eye on all that polish flowing down from the stem. Vert Chlorophylle dries quickly to a nice shine and the wear once more was excellent. This baby stains upon removal but nothing a thorough wash with your regular hand soap could not get rid of.

I have been talking here before from the awesome nail polish swaps I do with my dear friend Radha from @polishpurge - she is my Lynnderella fairy and also this time spoiled me with two awesome glitters - this is Pentimento:

I applied one coat of Pentimento over my Vert Chlorophylle mani. Pentimento is glitter chutney - it is so packed with glitter. I literally applied it like butter on bread. The glitter spreads nicely and easily despite the consistency and no need for dabs, drags or pushes - what you see on my nails is what I just brushed on my nails. Pentimento surprisingly dried smooth except for one or two naughty bigger glitter pieces - nothing that a nice coat of Top Coat could not smooth. Removal is the usual glitter removal exercise: elbow grease, felt cloth or foil method ;-).

I hope you like my NOTDs as much as I did. There is nothing like a bright and happy cream polish during those warm summer days - and those glitters - awesome if there is some sun out and they really can show their whole sparkiliciousness!!!

I look forward to reading your comments - thanks for visiting!!!
Christine

    1. Hi Süsse, oh I am so sorry to hear - I hope you have some time now to recover!!!! Thank you so much, I am so happy you like my choices :-). I like my polishes named after flowers or other "real" things versus those lately so fashionable endless names made up from games with words and they go on and on and on.... :-S!!! Take a quiet start of the week hopefully - puss puss xxx and cuddles to Smilla - she must have been missing you badly and will now tend to you sweetly I am sure!!!!

    1. Hi Ina - you brought back some Bourjois from your vacation right? And since I was such a Prince fan back in the day I of curse had to have that polish ;-) <3

    1. Hi Melissa - haha, I wish this every so often too when reading your posts!!! Thank you :-)!Purple Rain is so exceptional and (luckily for me) didn't get all that much attention next to the holos. CbL launches are hard work - even for a trained polish orderer like me ;-P
