Neutral shades with an edge and copy cat mani

One of my wonderful Blogger friends - Liesl from Liesl Loves Pretty Things has posted a drop dead gorgeous mani with free handed painted French tips with Opi Can't Find My Czechbook over Opi Don't Burst My Bubble. After having recovered from my initial excitement I immediately reached out to her, asking her if she would mind if I copy it - her reply is evident (thank you Liesl)

the above two pictures are taken indoors in daylight, the below photo outdoors in the shade

I applied two coats of Opi Don't Burst My Bubble over two coats of Essence XXL Nail Thickener. Now came the tricky part - painting those French Tips freehanded. Luckily I only own the mini bottle of Opi Can't Find My Czechbook therefore the brush is tiny and easy to handle, not to mention not overloaded with polish. Trickier was the steady hand that was needed to paint the French Tips and before you ask, no I did not manage to paint ANY of my tips in one go. I first applied one line at the very tip of the nail, wrapping the tip and then went over it a second time, this time wider into the nail.

I am quite happy with the result - what do you think?

Final thoughts: Thank you Liesl that you let me copy your mani - I love the fresh and edgy finished look :-D - it is a great way to add some oomph to Opi Don't Burst My Bubble!!! Not to mention the many, many options here - hmmmm thinking of a skittle here ;-)

I ordered Opi Don't Burst My Bubble and Opi Can't Find My Czechbook with Nail Etc.

I look forward to reading your comments - thanks for visiting!!!
Christine

    1. Hi sis, oh I am so glad you approve, I would have loved to follow you suit and paint wider French Tips but they could be called "stormy waves" at best so I had to console with those thin ones. Re practise: that makes two of us - I WANT those wider tips work ;-) have a lovely day and thank you for letting me copy your mani <3

    2. Mine were definitely stormy waves, lol. ;) I think I like your thin ones better, but if I tried this on nubbins it wouldn't look right...I have the funniest nails ever, lol.
