Black with Bling: Crows Toes Shoot the Butterfly

I had so many brights and neons on my nails throughout the last weeks, that I really felt a strong pull towards dark colors. In addition, I have been collecting black based glitter polishes like crazy earlier this year and I thought it finally is time to show them here. While in sunny weather our thoughts might not necessarily gravitate towards black based glitters, I have to say, they look awesomely sparkly in the sun. First up I want to show you Crows Toes Shoot the Butterfly - this was one of Mark's alltime favorites:

I applied one coat of Crows Toes Shoot the Butterfly over one coat of A England Camelot. The application was so easy - the glitter spread willingly over the nails and what you see here is exactly how it came out of the bottle - no dabbing, pushing or shoving glitter around the nail.

I have a faint idea that some of you might wonder what Shoot the Butterfly might look mattified. I therefore added Essie Matte About You:

Now while I really love mattified glitter Shoot the Butterfly definitely is not belonging in that category in my stash. It looses just so much depth and holo-sparkle by the matte Top Coat, it would simply be a pity to wear it with anything less than its intended sparkle ;-)

What is your preference - glossy or matte?

I ordered Crows Toes Shoot the Butterfly with Llarowe.

I look forward to reading your comments - thanks for visiting!!!
Christine

    1. Hello - thank you for your lovely comment :-)!! The colors indeed are pretty and while you might be tempted to think Halloween, the orange and the white holos add quite a bit of omph for summer days!!!

  2. That's so pretty! Gosh, hard to say which one I like more... maybe the matte one? I think the orange glitters just pop out from the black on the matte one. :)

    1. Hi Yun, thank you so much - hehe a hard thing to decide, isn't it? But IRL the glitters also popped up more in the glossy version - to tell you the truth, they simply look like two different polishes ;-) xxx
