H&M Wintersky

I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas Day - after yesterdays opulent meal, I am sprawling on my couch today, watching movies and (of course) play with nail polish. Tomorrow the marathon continues with visits to family. So yes, I am very happy about this little break and Nell and I have one gorgeous time while the weather outside is anything from dark to dreary and most of all, full of rain.

And while sadly this is no weather to sport any holos it definitely is the favorite light for any duo or multi chrome nail polish. Today I have another gorgeous polish from Little Miss Nailpolish's Christmas Treasure Box: H&M Wintersky! Instead of trying to label all the colors held in this gem I would rather describe it as Mother of Pearl for your nails! It says it all - wanna check?

the above pictures are taken indoors in day and artificial light, the below photos outside in overcast weather

I applied two coats of H&M Wintersky over Essence Hardening Nail Base. The formula is surprisingly pigmented and creamy to apply (read easy), however, I need to raise a flag to brush stroke alert! Painting your nails with featherlike strokes and in thin layers certainly minimizes the brush strokes. I achieved the best results though sandwiching a layer of Top Coat in between the duo chrome polish. It will provide you with a smooth and even surface of the nail and you will see, the polish glides on effortlessly and free of brush strokes!

Final thoughts: Jezz, I cannot thank you enough to have sent me this snow queen for Christmas - it is incredibly delicate, soft, elegant and multi faceted! H&M Wintersky is a wonderfully wearable polish, it looks as appropriate in the office as it does on a night out.

Now I don't know about you but my local H&M does not carry those big nail polish bottles, not to mention never seems to hold more than your expected reds and pinks in their racks - in mini bottles!!!

Thank you for taking the time to drop by, I look forward to reading your comments!!!
Christine

  4. This influx of duochromes done right, and by companies across the board, makes me ridiculously happy, lol :D :D Wintersky is gorgeous, and gorgeous on you. It reminds me of one of my very favorite Nail Prisms (but yours has a much prettier and more romantic name, lol)-- Lapis Amethyst.

    1. Sigh, the Sally Hansens….. this brand would certainly take up a lot more space in my drawers if easily available here. But just recently I detected a small rack in a drug store just across the boarder in Germany. I hope in January I will have some time to get there during my lunch break…. Mind you, my local H&M's don't carry that line of polish either, I am totally dependent on swaps here - LOL! And the name is not only romantic but our sky here really has a tendency to grace us with many of the above shades during the winter months - you know those days when the clouds are thin though firmly cover the sky and the sun sends some diffuse light down to us Earthlings….
