My NOTDs of the week part 2

Now on to a new brand in my collection - I am so happy to have been able to snatch up Colors by Llarowe Paradise Found. I was so looking forward to this polish as I associate it with my latest favorite TV series Death in Paradise which is set on the imaginary Caribbean island Saint Marie. It reflects the blue of the sea wonderfully - though I think the inspiration was the Sea of the Southern Pacific.

I took the above picture indoors in daylight and I am quite proud of the accuracy of the color - those blues are really hard to capture for my iPhone camera. Also the VNL (visible nail line) is about as strong as seen above. But the shimmer that is glowing from this polish gives it that "je ne sais quoi" that sets Paradise Found apart. In the picture below I managed to capture some of the glow. In artificial light the blue looks a lot "colder" but I absolutely wanted to show you the glow.

I applied four very thin coats of Colors by Llarowe Paradise Found over Zoya Anchor Base Coat and finished the mani with Butter London Hardwear Top Coat. I would really advice to also go for very thin coats. Due to the consistency of Paradise Found you easily end up with a Hide Tigh of polish on your nail and there is no way you can get an even distribution of the extra polish on your nail. While Paradise Found is sheer the formula is excellent - each of my thin coats was even and perfect to build up as much opacity as you prefer. The wear of Paradise Found was excellent, not tip wear or any other signs of wear to report AND - absolutely no staining upon removal!!! However due to the myriads of glimmer particles it was quite firmly attached to the nail and required some elbow grease for removal.

This mani is for Jezz from Little Miss Nailpolish - I hope you like it!! I had to wait patiently for my Lush Lacquer Clowning Around to arrive - apparently also the post office has summer hours in processing mail - nailpolish mail should ALWAYS get priority - to have to wait for polish for so many day is a real anxiety accelerator ;-)!!!

I applied one coat of Lush Lacquer Clowning Around over Butter London Fruit Machine. Now despite having turned Clowning Around upside down for at least 30 minutes the application was so-so. On some nails there were barely any neon pieces, others loaded. On top of it the brush was always highly loaded with the clear base and I ended up dabbing Clowning Around on a piece of paper and dab on the matte neon pieces from their to my nails. Still, I like the end result a lot and have already so many ideas what to layer it over next.

If you are still with me - thank you for being patient and reading/scrolling through this divided post!!! Anything from the above you like in particular?

I ordered Emily de Molly Cosmic Forces with MeiMei Signatures. Colors by Llarowe and A England Excalibur (revamped) with Llarowe and Lush Lacquer Clowning Around with Pshiiit Boutique.

I look forward to reading your comments - thanks for visiting!!!
Christine

  3. Well so far, the Colors By Llarowe are looking lovely and this one looks positively divine. I haven't heard of Death in Paradise but I do tend to live under a rock when it comes to new tv and movie releases.... Clowning around looks adorably sweet over that pink!
