Dollish Polish Twist of Lime

The idea to subscribe to Llarowe's A Box Indied was one of my better nail polish related new inventions this year! It is so much fun and so far, I have liked nearly all of the products I received. Dollish Polish Twist of Lime was part of the April Box themed "Every Color In-die Rainbow". The Box contained nothing but holos - YAYYY. Twist of Lime though is not your usual holo (which deserves another YAYYY) but a mixture between holo and metallic with a golden sheen in the most perfect interpretation of lime green IMO - look:

I applied three coats of Dollish Polish Twist of Lime. The formula was a bit sirupy consistency wise and not highly pigmented. On the bright side, this provided even coats from the first brush stroke on. A bit of a downside of the formula was though the thickness of the polish due to the aforementioned sirup consistency. I needed those three coats to achieve the opacity I wanted but had to really be careful to not get heaps of polish onto my nails. Also my bottle of Twist of Lime held some grains which I doubt were added intentionally. However, they were easy to be dragged off the nail without leaving traces. Dry time was a bit slow given the thicker consistency.

And - Twist of Lime is EXACTLY the shade of the case for my glasses - SQUEAL!!!

Final thoughts:  This is one of those cases, where I absolutely did not mind the slight challenge I encountered during application. I cannot wait to wear Twist of Lime once my hands will have a slight tan!

Llarowe A Box Indied is released once a month containing 5 products that are either nail polish or care products. You can either subscribe to it (like I did) and get it automatically every month (resigning from this subscription is really easy thought) or you can order it individually as long as available. The number of boxes is limited and the polishes are exclusive to the respective A Box Indied.

I look forward to reading your comments - thanks for stopping by!!!
Christine

  1. This is a really nice green but the fact it is holo and looks stunning in the sun is just an added bonus :-)

    1. Thank you so much Ananka - I have to admit, I was still a tad suspicios during application but the result is quite unusual and captivating ;-)

  2. This is a very non-Christine color, but it's lovely!! I love the lime greens like this one that aren't quite so yellow-toned. Make sure you walk around town holding your glasses case and looking totally put together. :P

    1. Haha - agreed!!! This is why I like Llarowe's monthly box so much - it makes me wear polishes I would not normally gravitate to ;-). And this case is so big - others would classify it as clutch (wonder with how little they get through an evening though). xxx Thank you dear

    1. Thank you Liesl! As I mentionned to Melissa, this is why I love the monthly subsription - makes me wear a lot of stuff that moved below my radar before ;-). I think I have the one or the other "relative" in my stash but tell me, wouldn't BL Dosh or Wellies fit into there too? xoxo

  4. I had some grains in my bottle, too. I think they are pigment lumps, some them burst on my nails to dark streaks...
