Once more I split my NOTD's of the week in two parts - you will shortly understand why….
A couple of weeks back I started a small series on my Blog called "Elevation Tuesday", showing one of the beautiful Elevation Polishes once a week. With shock I realized that I don't wear them as full manis anymore but just show swatches - this HAD to be changed!!!!!
First up Elevation Polish Tette. Tette is a volcano on the Teneriffa, an island of the Canarys. The special thing here? I have been there!!! I was as far up on Tette as a vehicle would take me and I will never forget the breathtaking bleakness of this landscape. And while we certainly were more than 2000 meters above sea level the peak of Tette still remained far and high. As for the polish: Tette is a dark brown jelly - and here the description is super easy: liquid chocolate!!! I love dark browns against my ever so slightly tanned skin (truly minimal but still there - haha).
This shows Tette at two coats. Here you clearly can see the transparency of this polish and I find this opacity ideal to apply some glitter. However for plain wear I preferred it at three coats:
Tette is sheer but has a great formula and is very easy to apply. Already the first coat goes on relatively even and at two coats it already looks completely even. Dry time is normal. High shine is insane. But I always apply Top Coat for everyday wear. And I included below another picture showing what I would for example choose as "decoration". I have Enchanted Polish Hello New York on my ring finger and Enchanted Polish Ola Rio on my middle. The little you see of my pointer is Enchanted Polish Tummy Time.
And I felt like continuing with Elevation Polish and choose Urulu next. Urulu is the Aborigine name for Ayers Rock in Australia. Urulu is an orange leaning bright red filled with red and golden shimmer that is visible in any lighting.
I applied two coats of Urulu over Essence XXL Nail Thickener. I am repetitive here - the formula is perfection, application a breeze, dry time normal. I used Essence Better Than Gel Nails Fast Dry Top Coat.
After a week of anxiously waiting my order of the new KBShimmer polishes I found them in my mailbox early this week. After some nail polish playtime I went for Teal Another Tail.
I applied two coats of Teal Another Tail over Essence XXL Nail Thickener. I became spoiled of KBShimmer formulas for their perfection and this is no exception. I particularly liked that Teal Another Tail kept it's slightly satin sheen and it looked as if the surface was slightly textured - but note it LOOKED - for the touch the surface of the nail was entirely smooth. Here removal requires some elbow grease as the pink shimmers are a tad reluctant to leave the nail ;-)
Lastly a picture of Nell as I found him sleeping on my - errrr HIS pillow yesterdays grey overcast Saturday morning (just look at those paws - LOL):
I order my Elevation Polishes from their own e-shop here and KBShimmer from Harlow & Co.
I look forward to reading your comments, thanks for visiting and stay tuned for part 2!!!
Christine
The Enchanted Polishes looks awesome, and the KBShimmer, too. I missed the KBShimmer sale (I was at the Zürich Openair that day), so I have to wait for the next restock to get my fall colors...
ReplyDeleteThank you so much - I find those Enchanted also beautiful and always found they didn't get as much stage time as they deserve. I heard that the Openair was just great - and if I remember it was a gorgeous weekend. And I am sure the KBS's will be back soon :-)
DeleteI absoultely love Tette! And Teal Another Tail! And Nell of course :D
ReplyDeleteHi Ina - I am SOOO happy you like Tette!!! I know, brown is not the most beloved color out there but this season I feel a pull towards it…. Nell was just too cute - he was fast asleep and soon after started waving his paws - probably dreaming of chasing butterflies….
DeleteHi pet! My favourite is Nell :) and then the kbshimmer ;) I hate to only swatch a polish and then never use it again! It's so easy to forget a polish when you have sooooo many others :/ I think every polish deserves to be worn at least once as a full manicure :) Have a great crime night darling! Puss puss! xxx
ReplyDeleteHi doll, awww Nell steals the show once more - LOL!!! I agree with each and every one of your words - I think it is time that I go into a no-buy and get those untrieds onto my nails - crime night was great - I hope yours too??? Cuddles to Smilla, puss, puss xxx
DeleteSalut Christine, I hope you had a nice weekend. Nell looks so sweet! :D
ReplyDeleteA great week, polish wise. I really like the fact that the chocolate shade enhanced your tan! I can totally see that effect. It's weird, but most dark brown have the opposite effect on me. Though I love browns for this time of the year, they're so chic!
Have a nice start to your week tomorrow. Bisous ma belle, xxx
Merci mille fois ma biche!!! You love brown too? How great - it always seems to get a bit pushed to the back with all the blings but as mentioned to Ina above, I feel a real pull to a chic brown right now :-). And how astonishing how this color can have such an impact on how our skin looks - any color for that, one thing that never stops to amaze me - I had a great start so far - having a week off cleaning out my place is great and the rainy weather keeps me from finding more exiting things to do ;-) - bisous xxx
